A Day of Prayer, Worship, and Divine Fellowship
Today was a remarkable day for United Shalom Pentecostal Christian Malayalam Church, Liverpool, as we gathered to experience the abundant presence of God in unity and fellowship. From the morning fasting prayer to the evening gospel meeting, we witnessed the hand of God moving among us, filling us with His Word, peace, and joy.
Morning Fasting Prayer: A Time of Intimacy with God
The day began with a fasting prayer at the home of our beloved Br Biju Mathew and his wife, Sr Pheba. From 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM, their home was transformed into a sanctuary of prayer and worship, where the church family came together to seek the Lord. It was a time to pour out our hearts before Him, interceding for one another and renewing our strength in His presence.
The fellowship was enriched by the warmth and hospitality of Br Biju and Sr Pheba, who opened their hearts and home with such love. After the time of prayer, we were blessed with a meal prepared by their hands — a true expression of Christ’s love in action. Their willingness to serve and their sacrificial efforts reflect the heart of God, and we are deeply grateful to them for their kindness.
Evening Gospel Meeting: The Power of the Word
At 5:00 PM, we gathered at Wirral Village Hall for an evening gospel meeting that was nothing short of extraordinary. It was a special moment for many as we returned to Wirral, where Shalom Liverpool Pentecostal Church was first started before moving to Liverpool. It felt wonderful to be back where our spiritual journey began.
Currently, Wirral church meetings are held on every 1st and 3rd Saturday. For more details, please see the Our Churches and Ministers tab on our website.
The presence of the Lord was tangible from the moment we arrived, as voices lifted in praise and worship led by the choir stirred our hearts. Their songs, filled with reverence and passion, ushered us into the presence of the King of kings.
Our guest preacher, Pr Baiju Balakrishnan, delivered a powerful and life-transforming message rooted in Scripture and filled with divine truth. He spoke about four fears that often plague believers, urging us to live boldly in faith:
- Fear of Sin: Christ has already paid the price for our sins, and we are called to walk in the freedom of His forgiveness.
- Fear of Satan: The enemy has been defeated through the victory of the cross.
- Fear of Illness: Our God is Jehovah Rapha, the healer, who sustains us even in sickness.
- Fear of Death: For those in Christ, death is not the end but the beginning of eternal life.
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
His words resonated deeply with all of us, reminding us of God’s unchanging promises and His presence that goes before us in every circumstance.
Fellowship in the Spirit
After the message, we gathered for a time of fellowship over a delicious meal. The aroma of the food and the sound of joyful conversations filled the hall as we shared not just a meal, but a bond in Christ that transcends all barriers. It was a time of unity, laughter, and heartfelt connections – a beautiful reflection of the early church described in Acts 2:46-47:
“They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people.”
The fellowship was a reminder of the beauty of community in Christ, where every shared moment strengthens our faith and love for one another.
Gratitude and Reflection
As we close this day, our hearts are filled with gratitude:
- To Br Biju and Sr Pheba for opening their home and hearts for the morning prayer and for serving us so lovingly.
- To Pr Baiju Balakrishnan for sharing the uncompromising truth of God’s Word with clarity and passion.
- To the choir for leading us into worship with songs that prepared our hearts to receive God’s Word.
- To Chef Rony for preparing the delicious evening meal that brought us all together in fellowship.
- To Pastor Philip Varghese for his invaluable guidance and support throughout this day.
- To Br Biju and Br Niby for their hard work in arranging and organising the gospel meeting so seamlessly.
- To everyone who helped behind the scenes and contributed in any way to making this day a success -your dedication and love for the Lord are truly inspiring.
May this day serve as a reminder that in every season of life, God’s grace is sufficient, His Word is our foundation, and His love binds us together as one family. Let us move forward with boldness, free from fear, and filled with the joy of the Lord.
“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:57)
Blessings to all in Christ,
